Family Pictures and 12 Month Check-up

I love my little family!! My cousin Jerika took our family pictures for us on Monday. They turned out great even though the boys didn't seem to know how to smile. They are the most curious boys ever and did not want to hold still to smile when they could be playing with dirt and rocks and run around. I need to work on that and get them to smile every time I say cheese or something because they did not want to. Oh well they are still the cutest boys in the world and look adorable no matter what.

We went driving on Sunday and found some buildings we liked by Crumb Brothers Bakery. So on Monday the weather couldn't have been better and we had a great time.

My little guys are almost a year and one month old. I can not believe it but they are just getting so big.

They love to talk and run and hide and play.
They love to eat and love all fruits, bread, and anything messy.
They love to giggle at each other and chase each other around.
They are so smart and totally understand when they are not suppose to do something.
They can say Mom, Dad, stop, and Whoo like Owls.
They can play with puzzles and with a little help put the pieces in the right spot.
They are starting to learn to climb and sometimes get stuck in sticky situations.
They have 8 teeth and I am pretty sure their molars are coming in soon.
They are 22 pounds and 31" tall. So they are tall for their age but light for their age.
They have different personalities and they come out more and more each day.
They love to give kisses and hugs (and I love it).
They love getting tickled by their daddy.
They love to jump in their cribs and scream at each other when they wake up from their naps.
They love to push everything and anything around the house.
Most of all they LOVE being outside. I think it comes from us because David and I could spend endless hours outside. It is hard sometimes taking them out and making sure they aren't getting into any trouble but for the most part they are awesome listeners and do what I ask.

It is so funny when we can tell that Ollie is doing something he is not suppose to and we say "HEY" and we go to where he is and he tries to run away in a hurry but has no where to go. It is hilarious.

They at that point in their lives where they like to drop stuff and say "Uh oh". It is too cute but sometimes not. :)

I wouldn't change a thing in my life and I am so grateful for everything I have and most of all for my wonderful family!!

Rain

Usually I tend to not like the rain very much but today I am actually enjoying it.  I think it has to do with how hot it has been and having it rain and cool everything off and give all life a drink of water makes me enjoy it.

I remember in the summer when it would rain, all of the neighborhood kids would come out, find a stick and see who's could make it to the end of the road first. The south end of the neighborhood was always flooded when it rained because of the clogged up drains. We would play in the water for hours until our parents made us come in.

Now that I think about it, it was probably really gross water, but who cares when you are a kid right?

I think I am going to make rolls and cookies today. The boys will love that when they wake up from their nap. :)

Happy Friday!!

The Big ONE!!

The boys turned one on April 26th and the ward missionaries brought two little loaves of chocolate chip banana bread for them to chow down on.
I didn't prepare any kind of dessert for them on their actual Birthday because we were having a party for them the following Sunday so it was perfect that they brought the boys a treat.

Here they are before and during

At first the boys were just curious and only took little bites, but once they figured out that it was delicious cake they had them eaten in no time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDEN AND OLIVER!!!

Helmet Time

Aiden and Oliver have had their helmets for about a month now. Aiden wears the one with the blue velcro and Oliver wears the one with green. It makes telling them apart much easier. When we first got their helmets the boys wore them only periodically. We were suppose to let them wear it an hour or two and take it off, then add more time everyday and add in nap times and then finally bedtime by day five. The boys did so well with their helmets that they were wearing them 23/7 on day three. I was proud of them and they didn't seem to mind them very much at all. They did get quite sweaty at first but not as much anymore.
Two weeks ago we went to their doctor appointment and were able to get their heads measured. Oliver's head has grown 4mm in the right direction and Aiden's 2mm. We think Oliver only had 8mm to grow until his head measured correct so we are excited to see today what the doctor will say when they measure again. I just can't wait until they don't have to wear them anymore, they are so much cuter with them off. :)

The boys get one hour with their helmets off everyday which we do before bedtime. So that is when we get to wash and sanitize their helmets and wash their heads. They love patting their heads when the helmet is off and rubbing their heads on everything cause it feels so good. They make us laugh.
We attract more attention now then the usual with our twins because of their helmets. People will stare or come up to us and ask what they are for or tell us about their grandchild's, sons, daughters, nephews helmet. We have met a lot of people because of them and that is never a bad thing.

The boys have enjoyed their helmets and I am sure they are going to miss them when they get them off when they start feeling the pain again of running into things or each other.

Willow Park

My sister Marcie invited the boys and I to come along with her and her Sister-in-law Hannah to Willow Park since she had never been before. It turned out to be a great day with plenty of sunshine. I packed the boys up and off we went. Hannah and her husband Nephi and their daughter Joanna actually moved into the duplex where we use to live so it has been fun getting to know her more outside of family events.

We were lucky enough to see this beautiful peacock with his feathers out when we arrived. There were a few female peacocks hanging out so I am sure he was trying to impress them but I think we were more impressed then they were.

Here is Hannah, Joanna and Ben looking for the turtles. Ben loved watching them swim around and basking in the sun.

Autumn lounged like this the entire time we were at the park. She must have been pretty comfortable. Maylee loved seeing the swans and would say that they were swans from The Swan Princess and would soon turn into Odette. Maylee has a great memory that is for sure. The kids all loved seeing the animals. I am not sure how much the boys actually saw but they seemed to have a great time anyways.

Here are all the children in their strollers as happy as could be!

The boys loved swinging and kind of hogged the baby swings for a little while. It is so much easier having them in them then out because they love putting everything in sight into their mouths. I don't mind them putting stuff into their mouths but they like to try and eat everything so they end up gagging and I hate it. I can not wait until they learn that everything that can go into their mouths is NOT FOOD!!
